I read your posts and you all have such individual takes on the subject. I am inspired to return to work. I used to metalwork, and I had a wand that I unfortunately broke in an accident, made if a bluebeard flower, filled with a steel/gold alloy. I personally find metal more conductive to my means, but wood wise, willow is my favorite.

fireheart, a Staff is a larger version of the wand. The wand is more for an indoor use and the staff for outdoors, though if you have the space, using it indoors is fine. You have to remember that tools are a focus point, and an extension of your own arm.

Bobfred, Yes, you can use a mangrove branch if you feel it will hold up and if it holds specific significance to you.

Zelda, you can buy one from the store, or make one yourself. Wands don't have to be elaborate pieces that you work with, they can simply be a branch off a tree that's decorated lightly to your satisfaction.

Here's an example of my personal wand.

Here's an example of a few you can buy from the store right here on SOM.
