I would say they are, and maybe take the extra care, to consecrate them ...

Runes basically originated in the viking period time, in the time of odin, he is the chief god in norse mythology. In the viking legend it is said that odin had a horse, the horse had Runic symbols engraved into its teeth. The 19th rune was called Ehwaz. Many of use know this but the runic symbols did not die with the vikings, thanks to the televisions and programs they are about, them people would know nothing about the viking are kind of aware of them, their lifestyle. But many of use know that lots of us know about the vikins in modern day so the information about runes are expanding.

I approve of this post very much. I like the way the runes can be simplified as to not confuse newcomers.

I never thought, about creating my own runes. I'll just have to give it a go ...

Are the rune books, featured in the online store, any good?

It's a great article, by the way, and has left me much to thinking about. :D

Ruf der Runen, by Igor Warneck is a good one as well. You just have to find an English copy.

Does the type of wood matter? I bought wooden discs from the craft store and made my set. I painted the Letters on after a blood smear infusion. I lacquered them but the next set I make will not have lacquer as they stick together and can no longer be used.
