There are several key points to look for in id. of a scammer. One are they asking for money in profile or in a email. Two is the information and picture the same as if they sent you a scam before. 3rd and most important. They will ask for Personal Information such as Phone Number, Full Name, Address, Email Information and Bank Account or Credit Card Number. As a Former Member of Security and a Anti-Scam Investigator for a refinery i seen this a lot.
This world has always had people looking to cash in on other people in one form or another. The internet was once called ' the greatest and most dangerous invention of the 20th century ' by a Federal Agent at a safety presentationion once. He was 100% correct in my opinion. Thank you for posting this.

I too has see multiple profiles that just seem sketchy to me. I may not have grown up the best, but I don't advertise it. Some people I think are just wanting attention. It's sad nowadays...
What you write on your profile is important. What is equally important is what you leave out!
A profile should have:- gender, age, location. (Just town and country, not your postal or e-mail address. This is because of time zones. But it is optional. If you don't want to give location, leave it blank. Don't write silly locations like,"Living with the fairies". It looks like Fluff!)
Then the profile should have a little about your interests, experience, competence, beliefs. So that others with similar interests can contact you.
Just be careful of what you write. Others are reading it!
Hi Wiccadoll, In answer to your question I can certainly tell you that I am a real person, and that is my picture in my profile. Of course I can't prove it to you, but I am really me and what I wrote in my profile is true as well.
Pet is someone else. I'm a she, and Pet is a he and owner of this site.
But your question is a valid one. There is no way on the internet to know whether a person is who they claim to be, thus my point earlier in this thread about being careful about giving out personal information to someone you meet on here.
