Using A Dehydrator?

Wanted to ask you all about your experiences in drying herbs using a dehydrator, particularly sage, mint, basil, and rosemary. I know that it can be done and that it works, but have any of you had the revelation that the more traditional way of drying herbs is more effective than using a dehydrator ? Blessed be, love and light as always !!

Generally speaking the method of dehydration doesn't have a lot of effect on what is being dried. It is merely a method of preservation to prevent rot or loss of the qualities, chemicals, and nutrients for purpose of symbol, medicine, and cooking respectively. The only thing to be aware of is whether a particular technique would cause damage to the plant or not.

Whether it is on a rock in the sun, on a bed of salt, hung upside-down in the root cellar, or whirring away in a low-temperature convection oven, it all works the same. The rest is preference. Personal taste might lead you to favour a more traditional approach if you want a more intimate connection with the activity, or it might favor a more technological one if convenience and volume are more important at the time.
