Candles

Hello! I'm fairly new to white magic, and I was wondering if I need special candles to do spells, or do can I use any candles as long as they match the colour / size as listed in a spell?

You don't actually need anything to preform spells, it's just a preference! You don't need to use candles but if you'd like to, yes any kind of candle is fine.
Many practitioners believe that colours have different properties and influences in a spell, which is why they use different coloured candles. So if you wanted to use candles, as long as the colour matches with your intent (though white can be used for any intent) then you should be good to go!

There are some candles you can buy that were made specifically for a single purpose.

However if you want to craft your own spells/rituals with candles than you wouldn't need a " special candle ".

As mentioned above, some people defend that different colors, sometimes shapes can influence your spells.

When using candles it's not all about color, size and shape. It's also the way the candle burns, the sounds it can make and/or the smoke it can let out. Also the wax that's left.

I like to watch the candle has it burns down sometimes, paying attention the way it's acting. Paying attention on noises, if it let's out any. The way it melts down, if it's " tearing up ", if it's burning really fast, etc.

Same thing with the wax. Just to see if it forms any images, if it's a lot left over, or almost none.
