Summon spirit by chant?

I was wondering if there are any spells to summon spirits by chanting, whether it be in Latin or another language or possibly summoning by reading sections of the bible. I'm going to the town graveyard with a friend to hopefully contact spirits and ask questions about our historic town. If anyone knows of such a chant, please tell me and if anyone has used said chant and seen results, your experience would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

I dont know anything specific about talking to ghosts or spirits the way you are describing. I always figured stuff like that was the realm of mediums.

In a more general sense, yes, there are lots of paths use chants to speak to spirits, though typically, you are invoking or evoking some(one)thing specifically.

This sounds like an interesting project though, I hope you figure it out and post something about your success.

Good luck!

There are traditions which will use chants for specific entities. Usually there is an elaborate ritual surrounding the event, though sometimes there is not. If this is the way you wish to do this, then find a tradition and study it in-depth.

Chanting focuses the mind on the one thing until that one thing becomes subconscious, and your higher or lower self, your inner self, however you want to express it, begins in the work. It can lead to an altered state of consciousness during the experience.

That said, study. Find which specific entity you wish to contact. Find a tradition specifically linked to that entity, and study that tradition.

And yes: you can summon God (whichever concept you have) by reading some passages of the Bible. There are books in the Psalms which are supposed to be very successful with this.

On that note, the Old Testament (which I come ever more to see as full of occult knowledge than as a literal history) has mentions of different names of God, depending on your need or desire.

Some people will use these names to address God, while some will use them to petition God for a purpose. Finding these names in passages which are along the lines of your need, reading them as a prayer or chant, may be successful for some.

Now, if you are hoping to physically summon something, I have some bad news: That is not how this works. Some may use incense smoke, candles, black mirrors, and other scrying devices to see the results of summoning, more likely than not you will not have a physical image of whom you wish to contact.

However, you may ask for dreams, signs, wisdom or guidance -- especially in a given situation.

Learn what the entity likes, and perhaps make an offering.

Again, it comes to study.
